Friendswood is a city located in the U.S. state of Texas, partially in Galveston County and Harris County, within the HoustonSugar LandBaytown Metropolitan Area. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the city population was 29,037.

Friendswood was founded in 1895 by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
